A trailhead at the end of Forest Road 35 gives access to warm water that seeps into the San Francisco River about a mile and a half upstream. Sources give a temperature of about 98 F but describe a trickle along the bank, so how well it soaks is unclear.

No closures reported
No closure, fire or weather warning found in Forest Service, wildfire (NIFC) or National Weather Service feeds. That isn't confirmation it's open, so check with Gila National Forest.
Checked 22 Oct · updated daily
As of 2026-10-18 no closure, fire or road order specific to this trailhead was found in search results. A June 2025 Trout Fire area closure covered land south and west of NM-35, a different area. Check with the Reserve office (575-533-6232) before going.
River crossings and high water are likely along the San Francisco River; seeps trickle in from the bank over roughly 100 yards and may not form a deep soaking pool.
