Checked 14 Oct · updated daily
Inyo County ended the previous concessionaire's contract in July 2025. The pools were closed from about May 2025 until they reopened on Nov 7, 2025 under the new concessionaire Flippin-Hamrick, with a 10-year agreement. The county page still shows a closure notice about the transition. Some visitor reviews in Apr 2025 described the site as run down.
Source water is very hot, around 116 to 118 F, and pool temperatures should be checked before entering. Pools were reported coated in algae in 2025 before the reopening. Desert summer heat is a concern.
